How do I verify my identity?

Here are some important tips on how to save time by uploading your documents.  

Two documents are required.

1) Proof of Identity:

- International and  Norwegian partners must submit a passport copy.
 EU residents can submit a copy of their passport or national ID.

2) Proof of Address:

 Norwegian residents must submit one of the below allowed documents. (Mobile statements/screenshots are not valid).
  1. Residential Certificate in English
  2. HM Revenue and Customs Notice
  3. Telephone Bill - excluding mobile Bill
  4. Utility Bill (Gas, Water, Electricity)
  5. Mortgage Statement
  6. Council Tax Bill
  7. Bank Statement /Credit Card statement (Virtual bank account is accepted e.g. TransferWise, Payoneer, Monzo, Revolut, N26, Monese)
  8. Valid Insurance Certificate
  9. Pay Slip, issued by the named employer, stamped and signed.
  10. Financial statement e.g. Endowment, Pension.

- International and  EU partners can submit a water or electricity bill only. (Mobile statements/screenshots are not valid).

We may request a copy of your legal right to remain in one of our supported countries (e.g. visa, residence permit). Some tips to ensure the identity verification goes smoothly:

  1. Take a clear picture of your identity document, where every single detail is readable without any blur
  2. Take the photos somewhere brightly lit
  3. Turn flash off to avoid glare on your documents
  4. Make sure the details on your GATE Index profile match the details on your legal document
  5. Make sure that your legal document has at least 3 months validity left on it
  6. Do not take a picture of a picture
