How do I verify my identity?
Here are some
important tips on how to save time by uploading your documents.
Two documents are required.
1) Proof of Identity:
- International and Norwegian partners must submit a passport copy. -
EU residents can submit a copy of their passport or national ID.
2) Proof of Address:

Norwegian residents must submit one of the below allowed documents. (Mobile statements/screenshots are not valid).- Residential Certificate in
English
- HM Revenue and Customs Notice
- Telephone Bill - excluding
mobile Bill
- Utility Bill (Gas, Water,
Electricity)
- Mortgage Statement
- Council Tax Bill
- Bank Statement /Credit Card statement (Virtual
bank account is accepted e.g. TransferWise, Payoneer, Monzo,
Revolut, N26, Monese)
- Valid Insurance Certificate
- Pay Slip, issued by the
named employer, stamped and signed.
- Financial statement e.g. Endowment, Pension.
- International and EU partners can submit a water or electricity bill only. (Mobile statements/screenshots are not valid). We may request a copy of
your legal right to remain in one of our supported countries (e.g. visa,
residence permit). Some tips to ensure the identity verification goes smoothly:
- Take a clear picture of your identity
document, where every single detail is readable without any blur
- Take the photos somewhere brightly lit
- Turn flash off to avoid glare on your
documents
- Make sure the details on your GATE Index
profile match the details on your legal document
- Make sure that your legal
document has at least 3 months validity left on it
- Do not take a picture of a picture
